Just discovered ableton doesn’t especially like the new launchcontrol under XP – I suspect they are chatting away in the background all the time and it’s ignoring the control signals. Time to upgrade the laptop, methinks. Just a word of warning to anyone else still using XP. Works fine on Win 8.1 through.
A new alternative to the e-bow – would like to get my hands on one of these, but a bit pricey…
Just had a great rehearsal with Frostlake for our duo gig 1pm this Sunday at Meersbrook walled garden – should be fairly ethereal 😉
Mark Mettam took this photo of my current rig before a Lost garden gig.
FCB1010 & twin foot pedals going through a behringer BCR2000 all feeding midi into a tatty old laptop, guitar to laptop via a Zoom G2u into a focusriite 2i2. Strat, bottle of water. Simples!
A quick plug for the album I made with Bernhard Wagner – only a fiver….
I’m playing the Meersbrook Walled Garden Party on 7th June, 1pm, a set alongside Frostlake, a DADGAD acoustic & vocals mixture. If the sun shines, there’s no way I’ll be able to see the laptop screen, so after eulogising my software-based setup, I’m reverting to my hardware EDP & a reverb. Should be a pleasant change to all the filtered nonsense 😉
I’ve just been sent a launchcontrol as part of a magazine subscription, but they didn’t explain that you need ableton 9 to unlock the full feature set! I could not find a working remote script for ableton 8 anywhere.
In the end, I upgraded Ableton, all now functioning perfectly and looking like a really effective piece of kit;)
