Those lovely people at Ambient Live give me semi-regular gigs at their Awakenings festivals in Leeds and it’s fascinating to hear how my music impinges on and relates to the electronic music scene. Reviewers and audiences aren’t always sure what to make of it without the usual sequencer and mellotron, but they’re a pretty broad-minded and supportive lot. Special back-slaps to John Sherwood, who puts so many hours into making it work.

Featured track “Awake” – a more conscious attempt to incorporate a slight element of what is known as the “Berlin School” (Tangerine dream etc) into my style, although what might sound like a sequenced mellotron is actually a cardboard “wobbleboard” in the finest traditions of Rolf Harris.
